Fully Managed Outbound vs an Outsourced SDR Team

Author:

A fully managed outbound partner owns the whole system that produces meetings: targeting, data, messaging, sending infrastructure, calling, reply handling and qualification. An outsourced SDR team gives you dedicated reps, and sometimes the support around them, usually priced per SDR. For B2B teams selling into traditional industries without a proven outbound playbook to hand over, we recommend a fully managed partner such as throxy, which runs cold calling and cold email end to end and charges a flat monthly fee plus a fee for each qualified meeting you approve. This guide is published by throxy.

Depends on the reps’ brief

Your management time

Approving meetings and taking them

Steering the reps, reviewing activity and coaching on your offer

Typical pricing

Base fee plus a variable fee tied to meetings

A fee per SDR for each billing period

Where the line blurs

Many outsourced SDR providers now bundle strategy, data and coaching around the reps. SalesRoads, for example, includes a client strategist, an SDR performance coach and a research and data team with every program, and prices it per 4-week engagement by the number of SDRs (SalesRoads pricing, checked 4 November 2026). So the label matters less than five practical questions:

  1. Who builds the contact list, and from which sources?

  2. Who writes the messaging, and who approves it before it goes out?

  3. Who owns the sending domains and mailboxes, and who fixes deliverability when it drops?

  4. What exactly are you billed for: reps, activity or meetings?

  5. Who decides that a meeting is qualified, and can you reject one before you pay?

If the provider owns the answers to all five, you are buying a fully managed service. If most answers come back to you, you are buying SDR capacity.

When an outsourced SDR team is the better fit

  • You already have an outbound playbook that books meetings, and you need more hands to run it.

  • Your sales leader has time to brief, coach and review reps every week.

  • You want reps working inside your CRM under your own process, and you plan to scale by adding seats.

When a fully managed partner is the better fit

  • You do not have a working outbound playbook yet, or your current one has stopped booking meetings.

  • Your buyers work in manufacturing, logistics, construction or another traditional industry and are hard to find in standard databases.

  • Nobody on your team has time to manage reps, data and infrastructure, and you would rather spend that time closing.

  • You want the variable cost tied to meetings you approve.

How throxy runs fully managed outbound

throxy builds and runs the whole engine: targeting, messaging, deliverability, qualification and replies (throxy done-for-you).

  • Day 1: you fill in one onboarding form, and throxy starts warming inboxes and preparing infrastructure.

  • Days 2 to 5: throxy builds the campaign: targeting, copy, deliverability and qualification.

  • Day 7: you review the copy and targeting, or stay hands off.

  • Day 14: the campaign goes live and qualified meetings start landing in your calendar.

Every campaign runs on a custom database built around your ICP (lead finding and qualification). Messaging is written by people around your ICP and sales motion, and a human reviews every message before it goes out (messaging). Email goes out from separate sending domains across more than 150 mailboxes, after a two-week warm-up, with daily inbox placement tests (deliverability). Specialist SDRs cold call in 10+ languages alongside the email (cold calling).

Each meeting throxy books reaches you as a request. You have 24 hours to accept or reject it, the prospect only receives the invite once you approve, and the meeting has to take place to be chargeable. The flat monthly fee covers human SDRs, infrastructure, lead lists, copy and management (performance-based pricing). throxy does not publish a price list. You get a quote on a strategy call.
